Just on a whim (and trying to avoid real work) I whipped up a small and fast (standalone) Sudoku puzzle solver (plus a random generator and other stuff). I've updated my Sudoku program for those of you interested in playing with it. The solver is a little faster, the formatting routine has some options for auto-filling in empty squares, and (most importantly) the random puzzle generator has been rewritten and can now generate higher-quality puzzles (though it's a little slower now). I hope you enjoy it!
