unloadable ws after "Please report...
Posted: Sunday, October 16, 2005 10:57 PM (EST)

The following msg appeared...

System Failure

File: F:\aplw5208\src\INTERP\s\Wsreloc.c

Line: 101

IsValidMENTptr( (MENT *)x )

GetLastError(): 00000000

Version: 5.2.8

0043ECD0  0053A854

(E&OE retyped...)

Altho' the w3 was saved BEFORE the system failure, the w3 will not

load and I also cannot copy from it. Get this msg every time.

The bad w3 is about 58MB of fns and data.

We have lost only a few hours of work, about 6 fns which I would

like to copy out of it.

The subject fns work with Excel, had some probs with Excel before the

failure.

The error report means the workspace is damaged caused by an invalid object reference (M-entry) in the workspace.  It could be that the workspace was damaged prior to your last save of the workspace.  Unfortunately, the workspace isn't recoverable.  As a way to avoid this from occurring in the future, it's  recommended that you follow the solution used to detect and clear up abnormal objects in the workspace provided in the thread "Damaged Workspaces" at
http://apldn.apl2000.com/Discussion+Groups/APL+Win+Interpreter/APL+Interpreter+Bug+Reports/130.aspx .
