"Unexpected" error
Posted: Thursday, November 18, 2004 11:42 AM (EST)

Tried to use a "new" usercommand in version 4, part of which was copied from a version 5 ucmds file. Received the attached message. It's not life threatening at all, but I thought I'll let you know.

"Unexpected" error

Did some research. If I use a quadUCMD after xloading a workspace,

I have the error; if I do any ]command (one or more) first, then use quadUCMD, there is no error at all.

"Unexpected" error

The error message reflects a minor incompatibility between the version 4 and 5 workspaces.  In a nutshell, an internal state is expected in the workspace in the version 4 system that isn't applicable to a version 5 workspace.  You can avoid this error by copying the workspace instead of loading it.

Thanks for the fast response.  It works - and I can live with it.

Just curious: why does quadUCMD work after(!) executing a regular right bracket command? Does it change the internak state to be acceptible by the version 4 interpreter?
