This training teaches the basic, intermediate, and advanced features of the APL+Win GUI.



This training will teach the following aspects of the APL+Win GUI:

  • Understand fundamental Windows concepts including objects, properties, methods and events.
  • Learn how to build forms, the basic APL+Win top level object for interaction with the user.
  • Learn how to add the simple controls to a form including a label, button, list, edit combo, check, option and menu control.
  • Learn how to make your program respond to user events like clicking a button or resizing a form.
  • Introduction to some of the more complex controls, including the tree, listview, selector, and timer controls.
  • Introduction to the use of images and pictures on forms and controls.
  • Learn different ways in which your program can display forms from other forms.
  • Learn how a program communicates between controls.
  • Learn how to call common user dialogs for displaying a message or soliciting a file name.
  • Introduction to third party controls and APL+Win's OCX interface.
  • Introduction to the underlying Windows API.
